Pregnancy Friendly Beauty Products
So you found out you are pregnant and it changed your life immediately not only mentally but you also started to think about your skincare routine and beauty products you used. Nevertheless, you go straight to drug store to get pregnancy vitamins and check what is there suitable during pregnancy.
That is exactly what happened to me. However, it was not straight away, except vitamins; I checked all the lotions, creams, shampoos etc. but I wasn’t brave enough to buy it until I haven’t seen my midwife. I just wanted to make sure that it is ok to use those lotions so early, and what is better for you and your bump. The only thing I used from the day one was pure coconut oil and folic acid tablets (you can use them even before pregnancy). But the truth is, use whatever you want, what works for you and you don’t need to change your all make up, beauty routine and its products. I changed a lot at the beginning and there was no point, they still were ok and now I just have some lotions that will be out of date and waste of money. Therefore, I decided to tell you what I was using during all my pregnancy that does not cost millions and probably I am going to use them even after I give birth.
Yes I changed that at the beginning by going for BB creams and tinted moisturizers but later on I realized I still need some proper foundation and you still buy foundation not even thinking what’s in it. I really like the Gosh BB cream, which is all in one: foundation, primer and moisturizer. And it really does the job so you don’t need to worry and buy those three separately. Although, when I am in ‘no makeup’ mood I prefer just something really light, then I use No7 City Light tinted moisturizer. This one is suitable for all types of skin and is hypo-allergenic. Another one must have for me is Egyptian Earth. I know… probably you even never have heard of it and for me this was and still is the main bronzer, foundation and contouring since I started to use some makeup in high school. It is amazing and has many benefits such as responding to your skin thus getting the best shade for you so you don’t need to worry what shade to choose there is only one for all of you J Also, it is enriched with good stuff like vitamin E or Jojoba Oil thus helping you to protect and feed you skin. Just be careful if you decided to get one because there are a lot fake ones. If you interested how to know that it is original let me know and I will show you how to recognize real from fake 😉
Apart of those BB creams or tinted moisturisers, I use only spray moisturising mist, because my skin gets very dry, especially this time of the year. I use one from Lithuania and it is great. All ecological, with flax extract, refreshing and the best is that you can even use it over your make-up. What else would you want from moisturiser, right? The another only thing I use on my face is eye cream from the same brand. I know, I am obsessed with this one, but not many companies are out there that you can trust. It is with aloe vera, biocollagen and vitamins. I would suggest to use any kind of under eye cream, because during pregnancy your under eye gets dark and even after you probably going to need one anyway 😀 (all mommies probably already know that ;D)
I know it is weird one, but when I got pregnant, I started to think is it not harmful to use normal toothpaste most importantly whitening ones. So I red couple articles and they said you have to choose wisely, by reading what the ingredients are. I was like.. no.. too much to do for toothpaste (I know lazy me). So I went to lush and I got tooth powder and I was sure is all natural and pregnancy friendly. I was using it even before so it wasn’t something new for me.
The most important during your pregnancy is vitamins of course. I went for Pregnacare vitabiotics. I think any brand making these vitamins would be good, but because I started with this one I did not want to change it. The only recommendation would be to go for plus omega-3, not only because it has more value in it but also because the vitamins are dated by weekdays which makes it easier to track and not to forget to have one.
Stretch marks lotions and oils
I think this is the most worrying part for every pregnant woman and it is normal. You still want to look good and feel good during and after pregnancy. I am not an exception. I started to look for those lotions and oils straight away while using coconut oil. To be honest I wish I never stopped using one because as soon as I got those creams and oils I didn’t use coconut oil anymore, and know I think it would do the same job anyway won’t it? Oh well.. I had to buy something that says stretch marks on it. However, I cannot complain these Palmer’s lotions and Bio Oil were with me all these months. I even think I will keep continue to use Bio Oil post partum, because it is Amazing oil!
So as you can see all the products I used they are pregnancy friendly and does not harm you or your unborn baby and you still can look good and feel good. Because when you look after yourself, you feel better and there is no reason to forget all of it while you are pregnant. So spoil yourself, love yourself and your pregnancy will be much more enjoyable.
